This is my ultimate way to spend much-needed ‘me time’.

It might be that you need some quality time with your friends.

Whatever you need, do it for yourself today.

#13. Treat Yourself to Something Small

Yes, you can practice self-love without spending money, but sometimes it feels nice to treat yourself to a little something.

Some examples:

  • bubble bath
  • flowers
  • chocolate cake
  • new lipstick

#14. Create a “Feel Better” List

Create a go-to list of small things you can do when stressed, so you can feel better.

The idea here is to have this list on hand, so when you really need to find a way to relax or feel better, look at your list and do one or a handful of things from the list.

Some examples might be: Go for a 10-minute walk, drink tea, call your best friend, water your plants.

Example: Just the other day I received some news that was really hard for me. I instantly felt low and the tears started flowing.

So, I forced myself to get up, grab my pup an go on a long walk. Yes, I was still upset while walking, but it did help me focus on being on the present moment and really think about my feelings.

This is a bad habit most of us have so wouldn’t it be wonderful if we can allocate time to thinking positively about our bodies?

Try this…

  • Write down everything you love about your physical self
  • Stand in the mirror naked (I dare you) and say out loud what is beautiful about your body

#26. Write a Love Letter To Yourself!

You might think this sounds cheesy, but I want you to do it anyway.

When you write your love letter you’ll feel good and the best part is you have it there when you need a pick me up later.

If I was writing a letter to myself, I’d start it as…

Dear Yolanda,

Have I ever mentioned how awesome you are?!!

…..

Okay – that first line will get me laughing and that is kinda the point! You don’t need to be serious, but do write something that will make you feel great.

#27. Wear an Outfit That Makes You Feel Great

If you work from home as I do, you might be really bad at this. So, pull out an outfit, article of clothing or a favourite accessory and enjoy wearing it.

If you go out to work, you’re probably wearing more clothes you enjoy, but we can still get into the habit of wearing the same thing all the time.

So, put on a bracelet you enjoy wearing, a great pair of boots or wear that jacket you usually keep for special occasions.

#28. Make Your Favourite Recipe

Depending on your situation you may always be cooking for others and this means you’re not making what you always like. Yes, you’re just trying to make everyone happy as best you can.

If you do a lot of cooking, you absolutely deserve to make YOUR favourite dish, so go for it and enjoy every bite.

If you don’t cook, maybe you can convince a loved one to treat you!

#29. Watch an Old Movie You Loved as a Kid

Watching an old movie is a great way to bring some nostalgia into your life.

In fact, nostalgia has been proven to improve your health and well-being.

According to Dr. Clay Routledge, Social Psychologist and Associate Professor of Psychology…

Nostalgia increases positive mood, self-esteem, feelings of social connectedness, optimism about the future, and perceptions of meaning in life.

So grab a movie you remember loving and watch it from start to finish.
