40 Self Love Reminders To Improve Your Day
Some days, self-love comes easily. When things are going well, it’s easy to remember that you are worthy and capable of great things. On other days, it can be difficult to be kind to yourself.
When your world seems like it’s crashing down or you’re dealing with self-doubt, loving yourself might be the furthest thing from your mind.
This is why I think self-love reminders are so important.
A reminder is like a little “check-in” with yourself; they’re moments when you pause and focus on your own needs and feelings. On bad days, this little nudge can be all you need to get back on track.
Self-Love Explained
Self-love means different things to different people, but at the heart of it, self-love is about respecting yourself and feeling good about who you are. It’s an attitude of kindness, acceptance, appreciation, and compassion toward yourself.
As Sharon Martin, LCSW wrote…
“Self-love means that you accept yourself fully, treat yourself with kindness and respect, and nurture your growth and wellbeing.”
In addition, self-love is about understanding that you are the only one who can determine your worth.
You don’t have to try to make everyone else happy in order to get their approval.

40 Self Love Reminders When You’re Having A Bad Day
Sometimes, it can be hard to remember that you’re worthy of love. On days when you’re feeling down, here are some uplifting reminders to help you show yourself some more love.
These gentle reminders can be powerful tools for battling negative beliefs and helping you think about your worth.
Sometimes we just need to give ourselves a little reminder that we are enough, we are valued and we are loved.
Any of these reminders can help you focus on your own needs, so try different things to see what works best for you.
Reminders for Self-Love
1. You are your own best friend.
The love you share with yourself can matter even more than the love you seek from others.
2. You can always take a negative belief you have and turn it on its head.
Ask yourself:
- Is this belief really true?
- Is there a different way I can think about this belief?
- What’s an alternative thought I can focus on instead?
3. When life seems overwhelming, you can give yourself 5 minutes to…
- Take a deep breath
- Refocus
- Walk it off

5. Make emotional health a priority.
Having a healthy state of mind is just as important as a healthy body. So focus on your mental well-being by doing what you love, what fills you up.
Think of things that make you glow from the inside out.
6. You can do hard things.
Always know that what you want in life can happen, even if it takes a different shape to what you imagined.
So remember, you can do the hard things that support your dreams, your goals and your happiness.
7. Be proud of what you stand for.
Part of believing in yourself is being proud of what you stand for. Never back down to what is most important to you today, tomorrow and down the road.
8. Love yourself every single day.
Some days this may feel impossible – but on the hardest days when you feel down, try and stop and think about 3 things you truly love about yourself.
9. Never let your past define who you are.
Whether you’ve had painful romantic relationships or a difficult childhood hold you back from your happiness.
No matter what your past looks like you can always find contentment and happiness – you just have to make the choice to find it.
10. Spend quality time with yourself.
Alone time doing things that bring you joy is imperative when learning how to love yourself more.
Quality alone time means you can choose what you want to do in that moment.
Self-Love Reminders To Use As Affirmations
Affirmations are powerful statements that you repeat to help instill a belief in yourself and your abilities.
You can stand in front of a mirror and say them aloud, repeat them silently in your mind while you’re at work, or write them down when you have a few minutes.
To help you remember, tape a post-it with your favorite affirmations to your computer, write it in your planner, or save it as the background on your phone.
The goal is to put these words of affirmation somewhere you’ll see them often so you can remind yourself that you are worthy of loving.
11. I am enough
You don’t need to prove yourself to anyone. You are enough; extra efforts to prove your worth aren’t necessary.
12. I am worthy of love and respect
It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks or says about you; your opinion is the only one that matters. You are worthy of love and respect no matter what.
13. I believe in myself and my capabilities
No matter how challenging a situation may seem, you can conquer it. Believe in yourself and trust in your abilities to get through anything.
14. It is natural for me to love myself
Love for yourself isn’t something you have to learn or earn; it comes naturally. You don’t need to do anything special to be worthy of self-love, simply let it flow from within.
15. I am uniquely me, and that’s a good thing
You are who you are, not who anyone else wants or expects you to be. Celebrate your individuality and all that makes you special because no one else is like you!
16. I accept myself as who I am right now
You are in a constant state of change, evolving and growing as a person. Accept who you are in this moment and love yourself for it.
17. I am kind to myself
Treat yourself with kindness and understanding the same way you would treat someone else. Give yourself permission to do something that you enjoy.
Make time for self-care by getting a massage or taking a hot bubble bath.
18. Like everyone else, I have strengths and weaknesses, and neither defines me
You are more than a collection of traits and characteristics; you are an individual with unique experiences, thoughts, and feelings.
19. I love who I am, on the inside and the outside
Take time to appreciate and accept all aspects of yourself, inside and out. Love who you are at your core, and don’t be afraid to show it.
You don’t have to change your appearance to be loved by others.
20. I am capable of achieving anything that I set my mind to
You have the power to make your dreams a reality if you believe in yourself and are willing to take action.
Don’t let fear or self-doubt stop you from pursuing what you want. You are strong enough to do anything.

Learn to say no when someone asks you for something that doesn’t make you feel good or goes against your values.
You may feel guilty initially, but remember that you don’t have to be a people pleaser. You have the right to care for yourself, and people who value healthy relationships will understand.
