I have personally struggled with my weight over the years. I’m an emotional eater who turns to sweets for comfort. 

I have never been extremely overweight, but as the years move on, I find it more challenging to stick with a weight I feel good about. 

I know exactly how to lose weight and yet it can be so difficult.

I wanted to share a life-changing book I just read by Sharoo Izadi called The Last Diet.

This is a book about mindset. Having a mindset to love yourself no matter what you weigh. Learning to be kind to yourself every day.

When I recently read The Last Diet, a switch flipped in my brain about how I approach and feel about weight loss.

I never realized how powerful self-care and positive self-talk during weight loss are just as important as what you eat and how you move.

It might sound funny as I talk a lot about self-care and yet I’m not always the best at prioritizing it for myself. The Last Diet has reminded me to do something kind for myself every day -because I really am worth it.

What Are Positive Affirmations For Weight Loss?

Affirmations are positive statements you say to yourself. They are little phrases that we affirm. When it comes to weight loss, this positive self-talk can be an extremely powerful tool.

Weight loss affirmations can be used to:

  • Give you a reminder of how you want to feel about yourself
  • Provide support in difficult situations
  • Replace negative beliefs with positive beliefs
  • Boost confidence and motivation
  • Set the right tone for the day
  • Help you focus on your weight loss goals

Great – but do affirmations actually work?!

Yes, but…

Affirmations are a powerful tool to help with mindset, however, remember that they are a tool on your tool belt – one of many. Affirmations alone won’t fix a situation, but they can certainly be very helpful.

I personally find them to be very supportive in order to keep me on track, especially when used on a daily basis.

I personally like to look in the mirror and say them out loud to myself. It’s also beneficial to surround yourself with affirmations throughout your day…

Once you know your true why, using affirmations will feel more genuine. It also means you can use weight loss affirmations that support your why.

Use Affirmations When Negative Thoughts Pop Up

My biggest tip is to use these affirmations for weight loss when you feel negative thoughts coming in. Let me share a few examples of using affirmations to kick these negative thoughts to the curb.

  • I am in control of my food choices

Consistency Is The Key

Consistency is critical when it comes to weight loss, whether it’s what you eat or how you think and feel. So use these positive weight loss affirmations daily and throughout your day. 

If you have a hard time remembering try adding a different affirmation as a reminder on your phone. Then when it pops up you can reflect on that affirmation.
