Benefits of Having a Small Wedding – with Vineland Estates Winery

I am so excited to be collaborating with Vineland Estates Winery on this post.

Vineland is where my husband and I were married 2 years ago. It’s one of my favourite places to visit in the Niagara region in Ontario, Canada – situated 1 hour outside of Toronto.

This post is sponsored by Vineland Estates Winery and of course, all opinions are 100% my own.

Now let’s talk about small wedding venues.

Why go small anyway?

If you’re thinking about a small wedding you may be looking for the following:

  • Less stress when planning your wedding.
  • An intimate setting which will seem that little bit more special.
  • An experience that you and your fiancé truly want (not what everyone else around you wants).
  • High-quality food. Quality vs. quantity!
  • Getting to spend quality time with all of your guests.
  • A unique day that you get to craft just for you and your fiancé.

Our Wedding Planning Story:

We always talked about getting married at a winery in the Niagara region. This we knew!

Vineland Estates Winery was the first venue we looked at. We were unsure if we could go small at that point. Vineland has a maximum size of 56 people for weddings.

So, we searched and searched. No matter what we kept thinking about Vineland Estates. We just loved it so we decided to make it happen.

One of the big deciding factors for us choosing Vineland Estates was that I could hit the ‘EASY’ button with Vineland!

I have never been that girl who dreamed of planning weddings. So the thought of crazy wedding planning and potentially turning into a bridezilla just couldn’t happen for me!

I needed a stunning venue where I showed up, married my sweetheart and had fun with my friends and family. No stress, no drama.

This is what Vineland Estates had to offer.

Check out the Story of Vineland Estates Winery here.

The Benefits of Getting Married at Vineland Estates:

The Service. They have a Director of Hospitality (Diane) and her amazing staff who take care of everything for you – leading up to the wedding and on the day. This was a dream as I didn’t worry about anything.

Vineland’s connections. Diane connects you with local companies such as florists, bakers, transportation, musicians and so much more.

It’s Stunning! These photos really don’t show the true beauty. The views (especially at sunset), the grounds and the old stone buildings are spectacular.

The Wine (but of course)! Vineland Estates wines have a high-end taste for truly reasonable prices. We were able to offer sparkling wine, red and white that accompanied our food beautifully

The Food. Okay – Please listen to this. I have never had food at a wedding that was so impeccably delicious. Note: I am not just saying this because it was our wedding 🙂 Everyone was really impressed and some of our guests even came back the following week for dinner in Vineland’s restaurant! Just beautiful.

The Price. I was really happy with the overall price we paid. When you have a smaller wedding it doesn’t mean you will save tons of money as you are truly paying for top-notch quality. This was important to us. Saying that Vineland Estates prices were extremely fair for what we received.

The Entire Experience. I felt special on the big day. We only had to worry about wedding nerves (for me that was walking down the aisle without tripping on my dress) and nothing else. I would do it all again and change nothing. Perfection!

The Ceremony

What is amazing about getting married at a vineyard is that you can count on beautiful scenery and lovely flower beds everywhere.

This means you don’t need to spend as much money on decorations as the stunning scenery around you is all you need!

This was certainly the case with Vineland Estates Winery.

The Views

This is truly a place to capture gorgeous photos. We have come back in the wintertime with snow and ice on the trees and it’s just stunning.

Everywhere you look you were surrounded with grape vines and scenic views of the old world charm of Vineland’s buildings and gardens.

Other Great Reasons to Opt-In for a Small Wedding:

1. Intimate Setting

Many of us want a smaller wedding so we can enjoy our guests.

This is an important day which goes by quickly no matter what, so getting to hang out with absolutely everyone really made the day feel that bit more special to us.

Everyone was there (all 50 people) because we wanted them there. Simple.

2. You Can Get More Creative

I loved that we could make each table unique (there were only 6!) with a different, beautiful vintage picture frame.

Even though the wedding was small we had everything we needed 🙂

  • A creative guest book where people took their photos with a polaroid and left us a message.
  • We also served our cake as dessert, which can be harder to do at a larger wedding I feel.

3. We were relaxed!

We let the night take us where it went with no expectations. Many people stayed inside The Carriage House, while others watched the stars.

And of course, impromptu Greek dancing took place which was so much fun even though I’m still learning!

The Best Wedding Shower Gift Ever!

Since my husband and I were together for many years before we tied the knot we didn’t need anything, so my lovely friends and family pitched in to get us a Vineland Estates Wine Club Membership.

For 12 months we received 2 bottles of wine (different every month) + a surprise gift.

The best part though, if you are a member you have serious benefits when you visit Vineland Estates.

This includes free wine tastings for you and your guests in the wine shop, free wine paired with all 5 courses of the chefs creative menu in the restaurant, plus invites to attend loads of free VIP events with wine and cheese included.

  • No term and no upfront costs or restrictions. You pay-as-you-go and can cancel at any time.
  • Perfect gift idea as you can choose how many months you would like to gift.
