What is International Women’s Day?

International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8th every year, with the first IWD in 1911 in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland.

This has always been a day to celebrate and stand up for women’s equality, and achievement and raise awareness about discrimination (source).

It’s absolutely crazy to think that it took until 1974 for single women in Canada and the US to be able to apply for loans and credit.

We have come a long way since then, but we still have to fight the fight to be accepted for who we are. We do things differently than men and this is a good thing.
