PTKO Diaries: June ’26 – May Didn’t Go As Planned, But That’s Okay

Welcome to the first edition of “Put The Kettle On Diaries“. Here I’ll be sharing what’s been going on with me lately, plus new content, resources and programs that are coming up.

This is kinda like getting back to old skool blogging, cause let’s face it – why not prove I’m not an AI robot?! Yep, I’m a living breathing woman over here, just trying to get through the chaos like everyone else. 😉

Put The Kettle On Diaries – June 2026 edition

This month I’m sharing:

When I entered May, I had SO many things I intended on creating, launching and crossing off my list. But guess what… I maybe completed 25% of them.

So often I would be hard on myself for this, BUT I am not doing that to myself this time around.

Here’s why that’s okay…

I realized that my ‘plans’ got derailed by my mind and body needing something else…something more.

In May, I did a lot that was good for my heart and soul.

  • I spent hours and hours in my garden 🌻 digging, planting and watching the slow growth of my plants each and every day – all while playing catch with my big fur baby pup
  • I saw some close friends, connected with family and visited countless garden centres with my mom and hubby 💗
  • I went to 3 therapy sessions to help navigate my month 🧠. Mother’s Day is a hard one for me. Stepmom here who couldn’t conceive; I’m still feeling fragile, but so grateful I have a therapist I can trust and feel comfortable with.)
  • I started a group workout class twice a week 💪

At work, instead of being perfectly productive launching the BIG things, I ended up doing small things that felt doable and have longer-term momentum:

  • I worked on Mother’s Day content and got to the first search result spot on Google with this post – a big win that generated great traffic by creating something deeply personal that many people got to enjoy!
  • I felt a little blocked doing research into blog posts, so instead I had fun creating new quote posts with inspiring graphics you can share (here’s one of them to help with goal setting, and another one to welcome the summer solstice)
  • I began posting more to my Facebook page – I create a lot of meaningful graphics on Pinterest, so I figured, why not resize and publish to Facebook too?! (Follow along here if you aren’t already)
  • I’ve started creating a new therapy worksheet – something called a ‘Thought Record’ – which is used in CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy). I’ll be sending it your way very soon.
  • I surveyed everyone on my list to learn more about what you all need in your lives. I’ll be using this to create more customized resources for my community.

So, even though I didn’t do big, glamorous things, I did what I could when I was feeling emotionally drained and overwhelmed… and that was enough.

This is a little reminder that you can do the same.

We are not meant to be productivity machines. Our worth should never be measured up to completed items on a checklist.

We are meant to have fun, enjoy simple pleasures, and listen to what we need in different seasons of life.

This is especially important if we feel on the verge of burnout, which I know so many of us do.

Moral of the story: Show yourself the same compassion and grace you give to others + listen to what your mind and body need.

What I’m Working On

Lately I’ve been doing a lot of brainstorming so I can create some new ways to provide more support to this community.

I’m currently working on a new shop for my digital products, researching some new ways to deliver new journals and creating a space for you and I to connect and work on our biggest goals, together!

👉 Check out these two ideas I’ve been pondering + sign up for one or both of the waitlists below so I can see how many people are interested…

💡 Idea 1: 30 Day Challenge Membership

An online community that comes together to complete one 30 day challenge per quarter (to start).

This is another way to help you move forward in important areas of life like self-care, self-love, gratitude, emotional wellbeing, productivity, business, career, home organization and more.

(Before any challenge is decided on, I’ll get feedback from each of you to decide what to focus on).

  • Daily motivational email: Info on each day’s specific challenge – includes insights, inspiration and tips/hacks
  • Printable/online trackers: Helping you keep track along the way
  • Workbook: Helping you create a personal action plan for each challenge so it’s easier to stick to. To include writing prompts, space for reflection, how to’s and more.
  • Online chat & community: Space to interact and share with myself and other members
  • Weekly video call: Talk about progress, challenges and resources for the week ahead

👉 Want to join an upcoming challenge?

The first one will be a free 7 day challenge! Leave your details below and I’ll be in touch with more info very soon!

💡Idea 2: Accountability Club

I’ve had this thought in my mind for a while to start an accountability club to help people take action on the things that matter most to them, whether it’s personal or work-related.

I’m still ironing things out, but am initially thinking…

  • Weekly Accountability Check-in: 15-minute call and/or via group
  • 2 x Monthly Co-working Sessions via Zoom: 60 to 90 minutes
  • Monthly Reset/Check-in via Zoom: 45 mins
  • Quarterly Goal Setting Workshops: helping you set goals and create an action plan

Having support from other like-minded women is extremely powerful in all aspects of life. I currently participate in 2 accountability calls for work, which help me focus on goals, get feedback, and run ideas past others.

So, I want to bring this to more people.

What I’ve Been Loving Lately

🎶 Listening To:

Back in November, I treated myself to this record player as part of a Black Friday deal, and since then, I’ve seriously gotten back into music like I used to be. (I was a teen in the 90s working at a music store after all).

There’s just something different about listening to an album in the order the artist intended and not just catching a song or two on a playlist.

👉 Currently, I’ve been completely obsessed with Noah Kahan’s new album, The Great Divide. I just can’t get enough.

Fave songs: Willing & Able, We Go Way Back, Downfall, Porch Light

Here’s ‘We Go Way Back’💗

👉 I was lucky enough to see Florence and The Machine in April, which was insanely magical. So this is the other artist I have on repeat – specifically her latest album, Everybody Scream.

Fave songs: Buckle, You Can Have It All, Drink Deep, And Love, Music by Men (heck, the whole album honestly)

Here’s ‘Buckle’

📺 Watching:

Noah Kahan: Out of Body – If you haven’t watched this documentary on Netflix yet, I highly recommend.

Not only because he’s a great musician and storyteller, but because of the deeply personal stories he shares about his mental health. To say I shed a tear or two is an understatement.

Check out this therapist’s take (@therapist_in_nyc) on the documentary…

The Testaments: If you watched The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments (Disney+ & Hulu) is the sequel that takes place about 5 years after the original story by Margaret Atwood. Season one was simply excellent, yet obviously disturbing.

The Rookie: And because I’m a huge cop show nerd I watched the entire 8 seasons of The Rookie in the past couple months (yikes, probably too much tv!).

🌱 My Current Self-Care Practices

Flowers, gardening, hanging with the pup!

You may be the ‘i love gardening type’ or the opposite. If you do love gardening you’ll understand how much gardening fills your soul with goodness.

I just love tending to my garden, watching things grow day by day and honestly, just being outside. Mother Nature gifts us with so much beauty.

If you don’t love gardening there are so many other ways to practice self care. Here are a few new self care resources:

That’s all for now!

Until next time,
