I am on a serious smoothie kick lately. When it’s hot outside my appetite changes and I can’t eat the same heavy foods I might eat in the winter time. So, with it being another gorgeous warm day today I had to get out the blender and make my spiced pear smoothie.
Apart from this pear spiced smoothie being healthy, I also love that it feels like I’m cheating. With the pear, cinnamon and nutmeg it’s tastes a little like a scrumptious pie (apart from the bad stuff – but oh I do love a good pie crust). When I’m craving a little something sweet this is one of my go-to’s.
Get all of your ingredients into a blender or food processor.
This smoothie recipe is pretty simple as most of the ingredients you should already have on hand.
SPICED PEAR SMOOTHIE
- 1 pear
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt (I use Greek yogurt)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg, save some to sprinkle on top (freshly grated is best)
- 1/2 tsp honey (optional)
Blend it up!
Makes 1 smoothie.
Note: I don’t usually add any honey, but if you like your smoothies a little sweeter, drizzle it in or even try some maple syrup.
