This past weekend I was given a gift by a dear friend. It’s called The Happiness Box. The Happiness Box has 365 happy sentences, one for each day of the year. The idea is to pick one happy saying everyday. I love this concept and if you pick one quote first thing in the morning and really think about the meaning, it’s a fantastic way to stay positive and feel good.
The funny thing is that the first quote I selected from the happiness box is a John Lennon quote I love and have had it on displayed on my fridge and desk for years.
My Happiness Box Wise words of the Week
“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” – John Lennon
The Happiness Box is a great gift for someone who you care about, yet has everything.
Creating a box or jar of quotes is also the perfect DIY project. Grab a large mason jar or a decorative box and get started!
Here are some jar/box ideas you can put together yourself…
- Date night
- Reasons I love you
- Weekly chores for kids
- Happy memories
- Love coupons
- Free family activities
- Charades game topics
- Funny or memorable moments – this one your family would add to throughout the year and you’d read on New Years Eve
These are some examples of DIY jars I found that are similar to The Happiness Box…
